This has been a GREAT final year of dance for me. But, it is time for me to hang up my pointe shoes and move on to other ventures. I have been dancing for as long as I can remember and so I will try to keep this reflection short.
I have had some truly amazing teachers and mentors over the last 12 years, including Mandy and Sasha who I owe much gratitude. Dancers are instruments, like a piano the choreographer plays.
Step with Style dancers are a very close group of dedicated, talented, passionate people who work extremely hard and who ignite on the stage! From the itty bitty Juniors, to the exceptional Intermediates and the old Seniors you all hold a special place in my heart. You are all amazing people and dancers. SWS was my second home, and our entire company became one big family, including all the dancer moms and dads.
I am proud to say that my final routine preformed onstage was “Can’t Stop”. What better way to end a fabulous run then with such a remarkable routine with everyone there on stage with me! It has been my privilege to dance with Company 7 for the last two years. You guys are all pros! So many crazy, unforgettable and (often) sweaty times ‘on and off the field’ you could say. I will deeply miss ALL of you next year, you have no idea! I love you all!
I can hardly wait to begin the next phase of my life at university and I know I am going to be very busy with school. If I could I would bring you all with me! I hope to join one of the university dance teams in the fall at Mac, so that should help fill the giant void. I will definitely come and cheer you guys on at one of the competitions next year, I promise! All the very best to each and every one.
Just remember, You can dance anywhere, even if only in your heart.
