Amanda’s husband, René, serves as the Lead Office Manager and Director of Communications while also managing studio renovations. He’s a true “Dance Dad,” often building props or cheering on students, including his three SWS dancers, Mya, Hendrix, and Austin.
Amanda’s son Joseph and her sisters Kayla and Trinity, are all graduates of the SWS Triple Threat Program and former instructors. René’s mother, Francine, is a beloved presence in the studio, managing ticket booths and even participating in adult tap class!

Under Amanda’s direction, Step with Style has achieved championship placements in more genres than any other studio at the Fever Dancer Championships, including Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Ballet, Acro, and Hip Hop. Go Team SWS!
Founded in 2006, Step with Style quickly became Durham Region’s top studio, known for its exceptional training that leads to impressive results. Amanda has spent decades perfecting a well-rounded performing arts education for all dancers, helping students land spots at prestigious institutions like the
National Ballet School of Canada,
Alvin Ailey,
Joffrey Ballet, and the
Alberta Ballet.
Our alumni have performed on Broadway in shows like Billy Elliott and Matilda, and appeared in TV series such as American History and The Strain. Recently, SWS student Khaleesi Johnson starred in New York Fashion Week, Toronto Fashion Week, and the film Children Ruin Everything.
Amanda’s mentorship has led to SWS dancers being invited to perform with the Mini Pops on their 2023 and 2024 Bright Lights Tour. SWS students continue to excel in acting, modeling, music videos, and stage management, with many going on to become professional instructors, choreographers, and even opening their own studios.
At SWS, teamwork is our top priority. Our talented and experienced staff, many of whom come from the entertainment industry, provide your child with valuable insights into the dance world. We don’t just teach the steps—we teach you to Step with Style!
